An evening to remember!

Do you want to go for a run, we have time before our night class Michelle ask Karly? That sounds great where we going to go. I guess to the park I heard some other girls saying that’s where they go Michelle said. The two freshmen had graduated from high school and was now looking forward to a new adventure at the university. They had been friends for a long time and enjoyed each other’s company. They were lucky enough this year to be able to be roommates. Ok Karly said let me get ready be just a minute. Michelle had come from a tight nit family where they were known to look out for one another.

Before leaving home for college Michelle’s dad called her into the living room. He handed her a paper bag. Just a little going away gift he told his daughter. Michelle looked into the bag and noticed a can of pepper spray, a personal alarm and a door alarm for her room. Dad what’s all this for she asked. It will just make me feel more comfortable knowing you have these he said. Just promise me you will be careful. I promise dad I will be careful.

While waiting on Karly to get ready Michelle was gathering items, she thought she may need while running. A bottle of water, sweat band, out the corner of her eye she spotted the can of pepper spray her father had given her. You know I promised dad I would be careful so I better take this just in case.

I’m ready to go Karly said. And the two of them headed to the park. The Park had a ¼ mile track and the girls decided to run a mile on the first run. The air wasn’t too hot and there weren’t many people there at that time of the day. They talked about their classes and about the upcoming party they were invited to this Friday and what they were going to wear. The sun was starting to set so the girls picked up speed in an effort to get back to the dorm before dark. Before long there one mile run was finished. Let’s get back and see what’s happening Michelle said. They started toward their dorm. On their way they passed an old building that looked as if no one had been there in years. When they got to the door, they saw a man standing there with a hood over his head. Strange wearing a coat with a hood this time of year Karly thought to herself. They noticed that the man kept on staring at them and after a moment he started following.

Not knowing his intentions, the girls sped up, so did he until he was right behind them. Hey girls where you going, he asked. Then he reached out his hands and put it on Karly’s shoulder. This startled the girls and they tried to flee but he kept his grip in Karly not letting her go. Leave me alone Karly Screamed. The man told her not until we have some fun.

Meanwhile Michelle had stopped and was yelling at the man to let Karly go but he refused. Michelle remembered the pepper spray her dad gave her before going off to college. She told the man I will spray you if you don’t let her go. The man still refusing and starting to hurt Karly with his grip didn’t seem to care. Kicking and screaming Karly managed to get loose from the man and at the same time Michelle let him have it with the Pepper Spray. Instantly the man started to scream holding his face. He could not see the girls running away as fast as they could. As they were running, they spotted a campus police officer patrolling around the park. They ran to him and explained to him what had happened and that she had sprayed the man with Pepper Spray. The officer rushed to the scene and found the suspect still standing there screaming “it burns” and not being able to see to run away.
